We would like to invite you to join us in an international workshop “Widening participation in Horizon 2020: Baltic Sea region on the road towards being the most innovative region in the world” which is organized by Ministry of Education and Science of Latvia within scope of INTERREG Baltic Sea Region programme project “Baltic Science Network”.

The aim of the workshop: Expected results of the workshop is specific proposals for design and operational rules of next generation of Framework Programmes. Due to mid-term Horizon 2020 programme evaluation and Estonian Presidency of Council of European Union, this is your opportunity to share your experience and give input in planning the next Framework Programmes.

The venue: Riga Technical University, Faculty of Architecture and Urban planning, Ķīpsalas street 5, Riga.
Time: March 30, 2017, 9.00
Expected participants: Researchers, academic personnel, entrepreneurs and other experts related to the “Horizon 2020” programme.

This will be hands-on workshop to analyse and discuss:

  1. What are the main obstacles hindering research cooperation and participation in H2020 (with special focus on Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland)?

  2. How could the next generation of Framework Programmes tackle these obstacles?

Results of this workshop and related research activities will be presented in conference with a session on “Possibilities to overcome barriers in Horizon 2020: proposing new measures for widening participation and giving suggestions for the policy-making” on November 16, 2017 which will be official event of Estonian Presidency of Council of EU.
