JRC Summer School 2018
In a world flooded with information making sense of and communicating knowledge, or evidence, is highly challenging. Evidence-informed policymaking needs advocates and skilled practitioners. The workshop will focus on the tools and approaches to inform the policymaking process through evidence.

The 2018 Evidence and Policy Summer School in Laxenburg, Austria is organised by the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) and the Joint Research Centre (JRC), in collaboration with the International Network for Government Science Advice (INGSA) and the Global Young Academy (GYA). The event is held under the auspices of the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, with the support of the Austrian Ministry for Education, Science and Research and the Austrian Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs.

Zane Šime, Communication & Researcher Coordinator for the Baltic Science Network, will take part in the Summer School. The insights acquired about the role of population and migration for sustainable development in the European Neighborhood will feed into the on-going work of the Baltic Science Network expert group dedicated to the welfare state.
